Scales Approach, Intervalic Approach, and Triadic Approach over a Major 2-5-1 Chord Progression

In this masterclass we will be using Charlie Parker’s “Confirmation” as our springboard. We are going to discuss different approaches to 2-5-1 (ii-V-I) movement: scales approach, intervalic approach, and triadic approach. You will be able to learn when to use the ‘one scale approach’ vs the ‘chord to scale approach’. I will demonstrate ins-and-outs of the aforementioned improvisational methods over three different grooves.
